NIGERIA: Former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi on Wednesday held a breakfast meeting in Abuja with senior diplomats, including the British High Commissioner to Nigeria and representatives from the European Union, Germany, Canada, and France.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Obi described the engagement as “enriching,” saying it focused on strengthening bilateral and multilateral relationships.
“Today in Abuja, I had a breakfast meeting with some diplomats that included the British High Commissioner to Nigeria and his Colleagues from European Union, Germany, Canada, and France. It was an enriching discussion on relationships,” Obi wrote, signing off with his signature “-PO.”
The meeting comes amid Obi’s continued high-level engagements both domestically and internationally, as he remains a prominent voice in Nigeria’s political landscape following the 2023 presidential election.
No further details on specific topics discussed were released, but such diplomatic interactions often touch on economic cooperation, governance, security, and Nigeria’s relations with Western partners.
Photos shared alongside the post showed Obi in what appeared to be a formal yet cordial setting with the diplomats.
