WASHINGTON — U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that CNN, MS NOW and Politico will be banned from the White House, accusing the three media organisations of repeatedly publishing what he described as “FAKE NEWS.”
Trump made the announcement in a post on X, displayed as posted at 1:11 a.m. on September 19, 2026, in which he said the ban was effective immediately.

“I am proud to announce that, effective immediately, I am banning Fake News CNN, MSNOW … and Politico … from the White House as a result of their constant ‘reporting’ FAKE NEWS!” Trump wrote.
He accused the outlets of reporting “FICTION and LIES” while covering the U.S. president, his administration and the United States.
Trump also criticised Politico over what he described as an $8 million government subscription, alleging that the payment was made during the administration of former President Joe Biden “in order to keep them ‘alive.’”
“Seems like corruption to me!” Trump wrote.
He further warned that other media organisations could face similar action, concluding: “Other Fake News Media Outlets to follow.”
The announcement comes amid continuing tensions between the Trump administration and several major U.S. news organisations over White House press access and coverage. Reuters and other U.S. news organisations have separately reported the announcement and Trump’s stated intention to restrict the three outlets’ White House access.
