NIGERIA: The Brotherhood of the Cross and Star (BCS) has invited the world to a grand universal celebration marking the 25th anniversary of the physical coronation of His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords — an event dubbed “The Universal Monarch.”
Speaking at a press briefing at the Senator Bassey Otu Hall in Calabar’s State Library Complex, PCS Dr Amah Williams, spokesman for BCS, announced the silver jubilee under the authority of Leader Olumba Olumba Obu. He recalled the historic coronation on April 14, 2001, by the Sole Spiritual Head of the Universe, fulfilling biblical prophecies such as Daniel 7:13‑14 and Philippians 2:9.
“What was once hidden in suffering has now been revealed in majesty,” Williams stated, linking the event to Easter’s themes of sacrifice and glory. “One reveals the Lamb that was slain, the other reveals the Lamb upon the throne. One shows Christ in sacrifice, the other shows Christ in glory. One is the cross, the other is the crown.”
The week‑long celebration kicks off on Monday, April 13, at BCS World Headquarters with a flag‑off ceremony. Highlights include:
Tuesday, April 14: Commemoration of the coronation day, with earthly monarchs and traditional rulers paying homage.
Wednesday, April 15: Free medical outreach and a Supreme Conference by BCS scholars.
Thursday, April 16: Global humanitarian activities by BCS members.
Friday, April 17: Consecration of bishops and archbishops, plus the unveiling of BCS Germany’s 40th anniversary.
Saturday, April 18: International choirs rendering heavenly music at headquarters.
Sunday, April 19: Grand finale at U.J. Esuene Stadium, starting at 10 a.m., featuring the Universal Monarch’s blessings on humanity.
Williams extended an open invitation to all — Christians, non‑Christians, traditional rulers, and the public — emphasising inclusivity:
“This event is not a mere religious festival or convergence, neither is it meant for only Christians, but everyone created by God irrespective of his or her status in society, religious belief, or race.”
The briefing highlighted 25 years of transformation under Olumba Obu’s reign, including global expansion to every continent, evangelical tours to biblical sites such as Patmos, and institutional growth.
Williams conveyed divine messages on current crises, urging servant leadership, unity, and turning to God amid economic woes, wars, and insecurity. For Nigeria, he quoted the Holy Father: “Nigeria is now the physical abode of God,” assuring peace and prosperity. Cross River State was blessed with emerging oil and mineral resources, with calls for unity.
On global peace, Williams stressed: “True peace comes from God … If men seek first the Kingdom of God, Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, then every other thing shall be added unto them.”
He also offered condolences to victims of violence worldwide
BCS pressed for a shift from “deceit and wickedness” to love, justice, and brotherhood, warning leaders ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 elections: “Only the will of God shall be done.”
Media are specially invited to cover the events, with organisers promising spiritually impactful experiences.
