TEL AVIV, March 11 (Reuters) — Israel’s defence minister said the military campaign against Iran would continue “without any time limit” until all objectives are achieved, as fighting between Iran, Israel and the United States entered its second week.
“We will continue to act and crush the regime, as well as the strategic targets of this regime in Tehran and across Iran, day after day, target after target,” Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said on Wednesday.
“We will continue doing this also to enable the Iranian people to rise up, take action, and topple this regime. In the end, this is something that depends on them.”
Katz said the operation — coordinated by U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu — would continue as long as necessary.
“This operation, led by U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who speak and coordinate daily, guiding and determining the policy, and carried out by you together with CENTCOM and the U.S. military, will continue without any time limit, for as long as necessary, until we achieve all the objectives and win the campaign,” he said.
Katz said the campaign aimed to ensure Israel achieves its objectives and to create conditions for the Iranian people to topple the country’s leadership.
The U.S.-Israeli war against Iran has entered its second week after airstrikes began on Feb. 28.
Iranian strikes on Israel have killed 12 people so far, according to Israeli authorities.
Iran has also targeted U.S. military bases and diplomatic missions in Arab Gulf states, while attacks have also hit hotels, forced airport closures and damaged oil infrastructure across the region.
More than 1,300 Iranian civilians have been killed since U.S. and Israeli airstrikes began, according to Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani.
