The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has welcomed former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Engr. Babachir Lawal, into its fold.
The former government official was received by members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) and other party officials during an event held on Tuesday.
Speaking during the reception, an NDC official expressed appreciation to Lawal for choosing to join the party, noting that his decision demonstrated confidence in the party’s vision.
The official, who conveyed appreciation on behalf of the National Chairman and members of the National Working Committee, called on the former SGF to provide leadership and support in coordinating, guiding and strengthening the party’s activities in the North-East and North Central zones.
He also urged Lawal to support the party’s candidates, citing his experience, leadership and extensive network as valuable resources that could contribute to the party’s growth.
“Once again, I warmly welcome Engr. Babachir Lawal to the NDC and look forward to working with him and other committed Nigerians as we continue to strengthen our party and advance the cause of multiparty democracy and good governance in our country,” the official said.
The reception concluded with a renewed expression of commitment to the party, with the official declaring: “NDC all the way!”
